Donelric Owens

"I always have been fascinated with video games and comics growing up. In 1998, I was always drawing certain favorite anime characters as well as game characters. Art is always evolving everyday, and overtime it guides me to grow into the artist I intend to be. Although I only experienced drawing for over 15 years on an academic level, it's important to make a pivot, so I made the decision to get out of my comfort zone and take in another medium which is photography."

Donelric graduated at Florida International University with a Bachelors degree in Art History and a Masters Degree in Visual Arts, specializing in Photography and printmaking. The intention with his photography is to navigate through a community where people of color such as himself are combating against being underrepresented and embracing belonging in a community.
